Boasting About Tomorrow

13 Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” 16 As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil. 17 If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.(James chapter 14)

Hi folks,

Still talking about plans, it is necessary to think about what James said in his chapter 4.

The most important thing about plans is include God on it. We, as human being, have the behavior to do everything by ourselves and when something wrong happens we run to God asking his mercy.

The idea here is to talk with God about you plans and intentions and ask him what he already planned to your life. In fact, God's plans are better than your plans and intentions. I am convict that God knows everything about us, so the smart thing to do is ask him to reveal us his desires about us.

God bless us.

But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine

In my opinion, to start the first day of the year learning about Daniel was an important decision made by myself.

Daniel, wise young man, had the opportunity to enjoy of the royal food and wine. At the first impression, he could think, I am a slave here, I have no option, I will do everything they order me!

But, this guy was a God's man and he decided to keep his body clean and today we have the same opportunity. We don't need to gossip, we don't need to lie, we don't need to do bad behavior just because it is close to us or appear the right thing to do.

If we want a entire 2011 with Emmanuel (God with us), the first decision is do not defile yourself with the royal food and wine.
